A Man's Duty (1919) [Lost Film]

Storyline
Lincoln Motion Picture Company. Wealthy man about town, Richard Beverly, and Hubert Gordon are rivals for the affections of Myra Lewis. A drunken binge, contrived by Hubert to embarrass Richard in public, winds up with Richard spending the night in a bordello with a girl named Helen. Learning of the trick the next day, Richard, seeking revenge, engages Hubert in a fight. Hubert hits his head on a rock when he falls down after being hit by Richard. Richard, thinking that he has killed Hubert, flees to a distant city where he spends his time drinking booze all day. It is there that Richard meets Merriam Givens .... Hoping to clear himself of his disgrace so that he can marry Merriam, he writes home and learns that, although Hubert survived the accident, the prostitute Helen is pregnant as a result of their night together in the bordello. Richard confides in Merriam who tells him that the child she has raised is not hers and the he should return home to marry Helen. Upon Richard's return, he learns that Hubert, who has married Myra is really the father of Helen's unborn child. Richard summons Merriam to marry him.

Adah, a black woman, has an affair with Thorne, a white man, much to the dismay of some of the prejudiced townsfolk and Thorne's wife, Astrid. Adah attempts a reconciliation with her man, Pete, but eventually leaves him and the town. Meanwhile, Astrid goes mad and cuts Thorne's face and arm with a knife, but then mysteriously dies. Thorne is tried but acquitted. Because of the events, the mayor sends Pete a letter asking him to leave town for the good of all concerned.

The Law of Nature (1917) [Lost Film]

Lincoln Motion picture Company. A beautiful eastern society girl is the governess of the children of a wealthy cattleman whom she eventually marries. The lure of bright lights, dances and cabarets prove irresistible for her, so she, with her husband and children, returns east. The humiliation she suffers because of the crudeness of her rancher husband in society and the persistent attentions of a former admirer lead to innumerable complications which result in her husband and children returning to the west. Cast aside, alone, deserted, homeless, ill, she finally realizes her folly and the inevitable consequences of the violation of 'Nature's Law'; she returns west to her husband and children. The regeneration complete, she succumbs to the will of God.

Storyline
An Oscar Micheaux film. The tragic story of two brothers. Winston, the eldest, and J. Lee, the youngest. Sworn to take care of his younger brother at the request of his mother on her death bed. Winston soon regrets his promise. Winston hires his brother, who immediately begins to steal from the company. Winston eventually fires his brother, goes away, falls in love, returns home only to weaken and rehire his brother. J. Lee continues to ruin the company, but as usual everything ends well.

Off-Duty (1972)

Storyline
"A Black Man can't catch a cab in New York." Written by Anthony B. Major (Super Spook), Bill Jay stars in this silent short film of his trials and tribulations on trying to catch a cab in the Big Apple. He starts with just trying to signal one down, but when that fails he offers money to a passing by Marki Bey (Sugar Hill, The Landlord) to catch one for him. When that fails he dressed up in a variety of costumes to try and catch a cab. Music for the film is done by Rheet Taylor.

"Anthony B. Major wrote and directed the Award winning short "Off-Duty", segments for the NBC-TV syndicated That Teen Show and directed and produced, based on his original idea, the nationally and internationally distributed feature film, "SuperSpook", a parody on super heroes."

Storyline
Reol Productions. The story deals with a man whose fidelity and loyalty are rewarded by his being thrown into prison for the crime of another. His wife, son and daughter, rather than suffer the humiliation and disgrace brought upon them by their friends in old Virginia, move to New York. The son associates with evil companions and the daughter's character is placed in jeopardy while she is working as a singer in an underworld cabaret. The mother, having been convinced that a prison sentence is the same as a divorce, is persuaded to marry a man who has schemed to get her money. The husband is finally released from jail after the real criminal has confessed and he goes to New York to join his family, only to find his wife married. After man complications, it all works out.

Spitfire (1922) [Lost Film]

Reol Productions. A young colored novelist has written a novel dealing with colored folks, but is told by his by publisher that it lacks the aura of reality because he has not lived among the lowly folk about whom he attempts to write. In search of such experience, he goes to a little Maryland settlement and there meets the daughter of a farmer who, by reason of her quick temper, has been nicknamed "Spitfire." Her father is in the clutches of gang of horse thieves headed by Bradley, and it is the rounding up of the gang and the love that springs up between the young novelist and the country lass that provide the theme.
