Report To The Commissioner (1975)

Starring:
  • Yaphet Kotto
  • Michael Moriarty
  • Susan Blakely
IMDB.com
A not too likable, idealistic young detective is given an assignment which was unnecessary and therefore led to a tragedy and a shakeup in the police hierarchy. The detective, who was totally useless as a policeman, got all wrapped up emotionally with his assignment and acted completely irrationally when confronted with a dangerous situation. I liked the way the film jumped back and forth in time and depicted life in the department and in the inner city realistically. I didn't care for the way a pad happened to be placed conveniently on the rooftop so the jumpers would have a soft landing. Good drama well worth watching.

Surviving the Game (1994)

Storyline
Mason (Ice-T), who lives on the streets, wants to cease his life on the same day his two best friends die, his dog and an older man with whom he shared his food and roof. Just in time, Cole (Charles S. Dutton), from a charity organization, prevents his suicide attempt and introduces Mason to Thomas Burns (Rutger Hauer) who offers Mason a well-paid job as a servant for a hunting party in the Rocky Mountains. Mason accepts the position and flies with them to a cabin in the wilderness where they prepare everything for the four wealthy businessmen who want to hunt something special. Mason does not yet know that he is the victim of their sport until the following morning when he finds himself on the run for his life. Now, he must use his cleverness in SURVIVING THE GAME.
