With Murder In Mind [a.k.a. With Savage Intent] (1992)

Storyline
Life was going great for Gayle Wolfer (Elizabeth Montgomery); she not only owned a diner, but also a real estate business and had just become a grandmother. But then while showing a house to a new client Samuel Carver (Howard E. Rollins Jr., A Soldier's Story, TVs In The Heat of the Night) he pulls a gun on her and the home owners. Despite being shot 3 times, she survives but both physically and emotionally scarred as she hits the bottle and ends up arguing with the man in her life Bob (Robert Foxworth). Trying to make things right Bob takes Gayle to the county fair where she is horrified to not only spot the man who shot her, but that he is also a cop and struggles as the police are skeptical that he could be the killer. But they arrest the man and so the court case begins.

The Mighty Pawns (1987)

Terence Knox stars as, Steve Grenowski, a white inner-city teacher, assigned to a classroom full of problem students. By appealing to his students' gambling instincts, Gernowski turns the kids onto chess. Soon the teacher's chess team, headed by Frank (Alfonso Ribero, TVs The Fresh Prince), has won the county's junior championship. A shot at a national title is compromised when one of Frank's less trustworthy pals lures him away to a few local "money matches". Paul Winfield (Trouble Man, Sounder) and Rosalind Cash (Cornbread, Earl and Me, Amazing Grace) costar in this fact-based drama, first telecast February 14, 1987 on the PBS series Wonderworks.

Threatened with the repossession of her home by the bank she needs to make some serious money ... quick! Dubbed the 'Queen of Eight-Ball' in her teens she decides to try and make a killing as a pool room hustler. Fleecing a string of macho male opponents with her accuracy and prowess. But a handsome playboy opponent offers to help bail her out of her troubles but as they fall in love fail into trouble and debt himself leaving Whoopie faced with a double debt and needing to hustle pool again and make the ultimate kill shot!
