A Daughter of the Congo (1930) [Lost Film]

Storyline
The central character is Lupelta, a beautiful mulatto girl who has been stolen as a baby and brought up among the savages of the jungle. The story opens with Lupelta on her way to the village to marry the tribal chief. She has paused to bathe in a brook when she is surrounded, captured ad made a prisoner of slave hunters. In the meantime, Captain Paul Dale, colored U.S. Army, and his first lieutenant have been sent by their government to operate a constabulary, and are on a reconnaissance. They encounter the slave hunters and promptly take their prisoners and rescues Lupelta. She is taken to a mission school where she succumbs to learning and soon becomes a popular maid in spite of her frequent inclination to revert to the wild life of the jungle.

Dawn of the Dead (1978)

Storyline
Following the events of Night of the Living Dead (1968), we follow the exploits of four survivors of the expanding zombie apocalypse as they take refuge in an abandoned shopping mall following a horrific SWAT evacuation of an apartment complex. Taking stock of their surroundings, they arm themselves, lock down the mall, and destroy the zombies inside so they can eke out a living--at least for a while. Tensions begin to build as months go on, and they come to realize that they've fallen prey to consumerism. Soon afterward, they have even heavier problems to worry about, as a large gang of bikers discovers the mall and invades it, ruining the survivors' best-laid plans and forcing them to fight off both lethal bandits and flesh-eating zombies.

Storyline
Dale Robertson plays Albion Hamlin, a young lawyer from Baltimore, who travels to Haiti in 1802 in search for Lydia Bailey (Anne Francis), who needs to resolve a legal matter. The island is devastated because of the conflict facing Toussaint L’Overture, the black president, and the French, who try to take over the country once again. With the help of King Dick (William Marshall), Hamlin meets with Lydia, and in the middle of the war and rebellion, they fall in love and decide to help the Haitians in their fight against the French.

Sanders of the River (1935)

Storyline
In N'Gombi, Nigeria, British District Commissioner R.G. Sanders (Leslie Banks) oversees various tribes. Discovering that a Liberian native, Bosambo (Paul Robeson), has been acting as chief without approval, Sanders nevertheless is impressed by Bosambo's skills and allows him to remain chief. With Sanders' aid, Bosambo holds off an attack by rebel Mofolaba, and for the next five years peace reigns at the river. However, when Sanders heads to England to marry, Mofolaba returns, vowing revenge.
