Storyline
As children, Zouzou (Joséphine Baker) and Jean (Jean Gabin) performed together in a circus. Onstage, they were falsely billed as brother and sister, but in truth Zouzou harbored a secret love for her costar. As an adult, she now works as a laundress, and it seems as if her showbiz days are over. But everything changes when Jean helps land her a spot dancing at a Paris theater. Zouzou rockets to stardom, even as Jean's romance with her friend Claire (Yvette Lebon) leaves her lovelorn.

Storyline
The story deals with a young man who is sent to prison on the evidence of one whom he thought was his friend. The hero is ostracized by the townfolk after his release from prison. This forces him to leave town and incidentally leads him towards success. The friend whom he went to prison to save proves false and bribes the father of the hero's sweetheart to persuade her to marry him. Having successfully intercepted all of the letters of the missing lover, he feels all is going according to plan, and proceeds to plan the wedding. The bride is all ready, and the bridesmaids are in waiting, the preacher arrives — what happens next is the climax of the picture.

Storyline
The story tells of Munga who, although a slave in a new world, never renounces his faith and finally dies at a ripe old age, leaving behind the son who had been thought with him from Africa, now a young man. Under the name of Convington, he works his way through college, studies medicine, and after graduating, decides to devote his life to the uplifting of his people. The Yellow Plague breaks out and kills members of his race by the score. The doctor spends days researching for a cure, and finally fortune favors him. A young woman of his race is used in an experiment and is cured. Convington is awarded $100,000 for his discover. The friendship of the young woman and the doctor has now ripened into love and they marry.
