Child of Resistance (1973)

Storyline
Inspired by a dream director Haile Gerima had after seeing Angela Davis handcuffed on television, Child of Resistance follows a woman (Barbara O. Jones) who has been imprisoned as a result of her fight for social justice.  In a film that challenges linear norms of time and space, Gerima explores the woman’s dreams for liberation and fears for her people through a series of abstractly rendered fantasies.

Caged Heat (1974)

Storyline
A girl is caught in a drug bust and sent to the hoosegow. The iron-handed superintendent takes exception to a skit performed by the girls and takes punitive steps, aided by the sadistic doctor who is doing illegal electroshock experiments and raping drugged prisoners. After a while the prisoners put away their petty differences and plan the Big Prison Escape.

Black Voodoo [a.k.a. Nurse Sherri] (1978)

Storyline
An evil necromancer has died and his restless demonic spirit invades the body of sexy nurse Sherri. Transformed into a maniacal killing machine, Sherri stalks the hospital corridors turning them blood-red with terror and madness. Impaling, slicing and dicing anyone in her path, Sherri's only hope becomes two friends who must unearth and destroy the necromancer's rotting corpse, thus sending the monstrous spirit back down to hell.
