This picture was produced primarily to showcase Duke Ellington and His Orchestra. The story deals with a dancer and her man who plays the piano in the orchestra of the show in which she is featured. Terribly ill, the brave dancer dances to her death at the finish of the picture, to the music of the song her sweetheart has written for her.

Music Hath Harms (1929)

In Harlem, Bud Peagler's "Barbecue Lunch and Poolroom" (the home of Brunswick Stew), also serves as the meeting place and hangout for many citizens and organizations such as 'The Sons and Daughters of The I Will Arise Society," and also Mosby's Blues Blowers. It is also where Roscoe Driggers hangs out. Roscoe claims to be the world's champion cornet player, although he can't play a note, even a sour one. But when the chance to earn $500 for playing his cornet at the big concert held by the "Over the River Burying Society" arises, Roscoe signs up. Roscoe needs $500 in order to buy a beauty shop for his manicurist-fiancĂ©e, Zenia Sprowl. 

Roscoe makes plans for his buddy Sam Ginn, who can play a cornet, to hide under the stage and play while Roscoe fakes it on the stage. But Sam gets taken out by some dudes who have a bone to pick with Roscoe. No sweat, though, as another of Roscoe's musician friends, Willie Trout, sees this and takes Sam's place under the stage....with his saxophone.

The Devil's Disciple (1925) [Lost Film]

Storyline
An Oscar Micheaux film. Aileen Kennibrew, a charming and beautiful girl calls on one Richard Ellis, a motion picture producer, who is impressed by her modesty, refined personality and striking carriage and is persuaded to "try" her out in the movies. She makes good, and altho' elevated after a few pictures to stardom, becomes obsessed with an overwhelming desire to go on the stage. Finally securing a part with a dramatic stock company, she fall in love with a character man, who, unknown to her, is of degenerate character. Giving him all her love, however, she sets out to reform him with the usual result—but that's the story!

A motion picture that every young girl ought to see, as it, among other things, points out with great force and conviction, the error o vain love and shows how easily any attractive girl may be ruined by failure to exercises normal restraint.

The Dungeon (1922) [Lost Film]

Storyline
An Oscar Micheaux film. Myrtle Downing, a beautiful young lady, is engaged to Stephen Cameron, a young lawyer. One morning she awakens to find out that she is married to "Gyp" Lassiter, a notorious crook and Cameron's worst enemy. She later discovers that "Gyp" is a bigamist, a man with many wives, all of whom he murdered when they tried to expose him. "Gyp," having political aspirations, plots a permit residential segregation in exchange for a Congressional seat. Myrtle overhears the plot and tried to escape and warn her people, but "Gyp" catches and locks her in a room. However, she escapes and exposes her husband. "Gyp," enraged at his wife's actions, sets out to murder her. He catches her and locks her in the dungeon. Cameron leans of her danger and proceeds to rescue her.

La sirène des tropiques [a.k.a. Siren of the Tropics] (1927)

Storyline
Marquis Sévéro, a rich, lazy Parisian, wants to divorce his wife so that he can marry his own goddaughter Denise. But Denise herself loves André Berval, an engineer employed by the marquis. Filled with jealousy, the marquis sends André to the Antilles, to prospect some land he has just acquired. He promises André that he can marry Denise if he is successful in the tropics, but he then writes to Alvarez, his manager at the site, asking him to prevent André from ever returning to France. The brutal Alvarez forms an instant hatred for André when the engineer breaks up Alvarez's attempt to rape Papitou, a beautiful native girl. Papitou becomes devoted to André, and protects him against Alvarez's schemes. But she faces a crisis herself when she learns that André plans to marry Denise.
