Wild Style (1983)

Starring:

Storyline
Wild Style was filmed on location in the South Bronx without permits or pretensions. Boasting a fantastic cast of such hip hop pioneers like Grandmaster Flash, the Cheif Rocker Busy Bee, the Cold Crush Brothers, and the Rock Steady Crew, Wild Style tells the story of an outlaw artist, Zoro, who's in a subway romance with Ladybug. Fab 5 Freddy plays the smooth impresario Phade. From the train yard scenes to the basketball musical, from the hip hop clubs to the climax at the greatest outdoor jam in history, Wild Style has proven itself to be the ultimate hip hop classic.

The Josephine Baker Story (1991)

Starring:

Storyline
Born into a poor family in St. Louis, Josephine Baker (Lynn Whitfield) struggles to make a name for herself on the vaudeville circuit. As her career progresses, so does her resentment of racial prejudice, motivating her to move to Paris -- where in a short time, her exotic dance routines make her the toast of the town. Swayed by the influence of her manager (Ruben Blades), she takes her act back to America. It fails, but Josephine perseveres, proving herself as much humanitarian as an entertainer.
