Storyline
A slick inner-city youth, T.J. (Phill Lewis), neglects his schoolwork and makes money through scams and rip-offs. One day, while fleeing the police, he is knocked unconscious and wakes up to find he has been transported back through time to 1822 Charleston, SC, where he is taken captive as a slave. While there, he meets Isaac (Moses Gunn) and Mortilla (Vonetta McGee). They help T.J. understand the circumstances he is in, which turns out to be more than T.J. expects as he also finds himself in the middle of Denmark Vessey's (Carl Lumbly) plans to revolt. How will T.J. get home again, and at what cost?
