Brother Future (1991, TV Movie)

Storyline
A slick inner-city youth, T.J. (Phill Lewis), neglects his schoolwork and makes money through scams and rip-offs. One day, while fleeing the police, he is knocked unconscious and wakes up to find he has been transported back through time to 1822 Charleston, SC, where he is taken captive as a slave. While there, he meets Isaac (Moses Gunn) and Mortilla (Vonetta McGee). They help T.J. understand the circumstances he is in, which turns out to be more than T.J. expects as he also finds himself in the middle of Denmark Vessey's (Carl Lumbly) plans to revolt. How will T.J. get home again, and at what cost?

Storyline
Brilliant and obese scientist Sherman Klump (Eddie Murphy) invents a miraculous weight-loss solution. After a date with chemistry student Carla Purty (Jada Pinkett) goes badly, a depressed Klump tries the solution on himself. Though he instantly loses 250 pounds, the side effects include a second personality: an obnoxiously self-assertive braggart who calls himself Buddy Love. Buddy proves to be more popular than Sherman, but his arrogance and bad behavior quickly spiral out of control.
