Chloe, Love Is Calling You (1934)

In the swamps of Florida, Mandy, an old voodoo woman, returns to her home after many years to avenge the death of her husband. Mandy’s daughter, Chloe, has doubts that she’s really black and she rejects the proposal of Jim who is traveling with them. Meanwhile, Wade, the foreman of the Colonel’s turpentine plantation, fires Moses who¹s been stealing the product. A series of strange events are set in motion as Chloe is torn between Jim, Wade, and Moses, as the Colonel attempts to get to the bottom of the disappearance of his daughter, Betty Ann, fifteen years earlier, and as Mandy attempts to extract her revenge with a voodoo ceremony.
