The Marva Collins Story (1981)

Starring:

Storyline
Cicely Tyson and Morgan Freeman star in the true story of Marva Collins, a talented and determined teacher who leaves Chicago's public school system to open her own school. With no funding, in a poor neighborhood, teaching children that the school system has labeled "unteachable," Collins should fail. But refusing to accept failure--from herself or her students--Collins succeeds, and her students excel in this moving drama, The Marva Collins Story. Edward Asner introduces the film and summarizes Mrs. Collins' stunning achievements with underprivileged children in Chicago.

The Fantastic World of D.C. Collins (1984, TV Movie)

Starring:

In his fifth TV-movie, Gary Collins is a UN diplomat's son who continually daydreams about various movie heroes, ranging from Dwight Cloudclimber (sort of a miniaturized Luke "Star Wars" Skywalker) and Alabama Smith (who is not unlike Indiana "Raiders of the Lost Ark" Jones) to a James Bond-type and General Patton, all of whom help this junior Walter Mitty keep a step or two ahead of secret agents trying to retrieve a packet of documents he inadvertently came to possess.
