Storyline Paradiso is a patch of land in a shark infested sea, a high tech prison whose only walls are a laser-armed satellite, and a hell-hole where criminal is king and the only law is survival. Irene Cara plays Eva, a woman whose love for her husband Eric leads her to follow him when he is sentenced to this modern Devil's Island.
Once there and separated from him, she faces the unimaginable horror of isolation on an island populated by men who have become beasts. After joining a tribe of women who have banded together for self-protection, she discovers the strength of her own resources. Her reunion with Eric unexpectedly complicates her new life and leads to a startling climax as open warfare engulfs this hell-on-earth.
Storyline Deborah Raffin and Lynne Moody (Scream, Blacula, Scream) stars as two young attractive college students who become enmeshed in a trap of local prejudice and greed when their car breaks down outside a small, sleep town. Insulted by the girls' rejection of his amorous advances, the local sheriff (Chuck Connors), arrests them for trespassing and prostitution. After a mockery of a "trail," they are sentenced to a womens' prison farm run by brutal guards and a sex-crazed superintendent. Cut off from contact with friends and family, the girls realize that they are at the mercy of a corrupt criminal justice "system," designed to supply the local farms with cheap prison labor. Their only hope is to escape this nightmare, at the risk of their lives. Nightmare in Badham County exposes the terror and corruption of a vicious tyranny that actually exist in certain communities where "justice" is no more than a charade for greed. It offers a behind-the-scenes-look at life on a womens' prison farm that is as realistic as it is shocking. The result is gripping action, drama, and suspense.
