Caged In Paradiso (1990)

Storyline
Paradiso is a patch of land in a shark infested sea, a high tech prison whose only walls are a laser-armed satellite, and a hell-hole where criminal is king and the only law is survival. Irene Cara plays Eva, a woman whose love for her husband Eric leads her to follow him when he is sentenced to this modern Devil's Island.

Once there and separated from him, she faces the unimaginable horror of isolation on an island populated by men who have become beasts. After joining a tribe of women who have banded together for self-protection, she discovers the strength of her own resources. Her reunion with Eric unexpectedly complicates her new life and leads to a startling climax as open warfare engulfs this hell-on-earth.

On August 11, 1965, a routine traffic stop on a hot summer night sparks years of pent-up frustration within Los Angeles' African American community into a race riot that shocks the United States as it rages out of control for days. In this true story, when the all-white staff of main newspaper in the city, The Los Angeles Times, cannot get into work, a young, Black trainee Robert Richardson writes a series of Pulitzer prize-winning articles covering the riots. But as Richardson witnesses the excessive violence used by the police and national guard, he is torn between the impartiality required of a reporter and his need to rage against injustice.

After The Shock (1990)

On October 17 1989, an earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale rocked San Francisco. Presented here are some of the stories of the brave members of the public and emergency services who rescued people who were trapped in the rubble in houses or on the freeway.
